Related Product Information for PSPN clia kit
Intended Uses: This CLIA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of PSPN concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to PSPN. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for PSPN and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain PSPN, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of PSPN. You can calculate the concentration of PSPN in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a neurotrophic factor, belonging to the GDNF family. Neurotrophic factors are important for the proper development and maintenance of the nervous system. These factors promote neuronal survival and can prevent the neuronal degeneration associated with injury, toxin exposure, or neurodegenerative disease. The encoded protein has amino acid similarity to its other family members, glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor and neurturin. This gene product promotes the survival of ventral midbrain dopaminergic neurons in culture and prevents their degeneration after 6-hydroxydopamine treatment in vivo. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Human PSPN pspn (Catalog #AAA2531921) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2531921 CLIA Kit recognizes Human PSPN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PSPN (Persephin), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
