Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for CASP14 clia kit
The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Caspase 14 (CASP14). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Caspase 14 (CASP14). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Caspase 14 (CASP14) level in the sample or standard.;

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. This caspase has been shown to be processed and activated by caspase 8 and caspase 10 in vitro, and by anti-Fas agonist antibody or TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand in vivo. The expression and processing of this caspase may be involved in keratinocyte terminal differentiation, which is important for the formation of the skin barrier. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CASP14: Believed to be a non-apoptotic caspase which is involved in epidermal differentiation. Seems to play a role in keratinocyte differentiation and cornification. Probably regulates maturation of the epidermis by proteolytically processing filaggrin. Complex of unprocessed caspase-14 and processed 19 kDa (p19) and 10 kDa (p10) subunits. In undifferentiated keratinocytes under postconfluency growth conditions (in vitro). Expressed in keratinocytes of adult skin suprabasal layers (from spinous layers to the stratum granulosum and stratum corneum). Expressed in keratinocytes of hair shaft and sebaceous glands. In psoriatic skin only expressed at very low levels. Belongs to the peptidase C14A family.

Product Notes

The Human CASP14 casp14 (Catalog #AAA2000532) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2000532 CLIA Kit recognizes Human CASP14. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Caspase 14 (CASP14), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
