Related Product Information for MCAM blocking peptide
This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-MCAM Antibody, made

Target Description: MCAM plays a role in cell adhesion, and in cohesion of the endothelial monolayer at intercellular junctions in vascular tissue. Its expression may allow melanoma cells to interact with cellular elements of the vascular system, thereby enhancing hematogeneous tumor spread. MCAM could be an adhesion molecule active in neural crest cells during embryonic development. MCAM acts as surface receptor that triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of FYN and PTK2, and a transient increase in the intracellular calcium concentration.

Uniprot Description

MCAM: Plays a role in cell adhesion, and in cohesion of the endothelial monolayer at intercellular junctions in vascular tissue. Its expression may allow melanoma cells to interact with cellular elements of the vascular system, thereby enhancing hematogeneous tumor spread. Could be an adhesion molecule active in neural crest cells during embryonic development. Acts as surface receptor that triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of FYN and PTK2/FAK1, and a transient increase in the intracellular calcium concentration. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23.3

Cellular Component: extracellular space; focal adhesion; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; nucleus; external side of plasma membrane

Biological Process: anatomical structure morphogenesis; glomerular filtration; angiogenesis; cell adhesion; positive regulation of cell migration

Product Notes

The MCAM mcam (Catalog #AAA3240947) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MCAM Peptide - middle region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MCAM can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MCAM mcam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: PSTREAEEET TNDNGVLVLE PARKEHSGRY ECQGLDLDTM ISLLSEPQEL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MCAM, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
