Target Description: Constant region of immunoglobulin heavy chains. Immunoglobulins, also known as antibodies, are membrane-bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes. In the recognition phase of humoral immunity, the membrane-bound immunoglobulins serve as receptors which, upon binding of a specific antigen, trigger the clonal expansion and differentiation of B lymphocytes into immunoglobulins-secreting plasma cells. Secreted immunoglobulins mediate the effector phase of humoral immunity, which results in the elimination of bound antigens. The antigen binding site is formed by the variable domain of one heavy chain, together with that of its associated light chain. Thus, each immunoglobulin has two antigen binding sites with remarkable affinity for a particular antigen. The variable domains are assembled by a process called V-(D)-J rearrangement and can then be subjected to somatic hypermutations which, after exposure to antigen and selection, allow affinity maturation for a particular antigen.

Product Notes

The IGHG3 ighg3 (Catalog #AAA3247745) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IGHG3 Peptide - middle region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: TKNQVSLTCL VKGFYPSDIA VEWESSGQPE NNYNTTPPML DSDGSFFLYS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IGHG3, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
