NCBI Description

binds erythropoietin and induces an increase in cytosolic calcium ion concentration [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

EPOR: erythropoietin receptor: a member of the cytokine receptor family. Mediates erythropoietin-induced erythroblast proliferation, differentiation and survival. Upon EPO stimulation, EPOR dimerizes triggering the JAK2/STAT5 signaling cascade. In some cell types, can also activate STAT1 and STAT3. Forms homodimers on EPO stimulation. Tyrosine-phosphorylated EpoR may bind several SH2 domain-containing proteins including LYN, the adapter protein APS, SHP-1, SHP-2, JAK2, PI3 kinases, STAT5A/B, SOCS3, and CRKL. Defects in the erythropoietin receptor may produce erythroleukemia and familial erythrocytosis. Three alternatively-spliced isoforms have been described. Isoform EPOR-T, missing the cytoplasmic tail, acts as a dominant-negative receptor of EPOR-mediated signaling.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q13

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; external side of plasma membrane; integral component of membrane

Product Notes

The EPOR epor (Catalog #AAA2005204) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Erythropoietin Receptor (EPOR) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Erythropoietin Receptor (EPOR) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) - Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Western blotting: 1:100-400 Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 1:50-200 Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 1:100-200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EPOR epor for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Antigen: The target protein is fused with N-terminal His-Tag and its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Erythropoietin Receptor (EPOR), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
