Uniprot Description

GSPT1 iso3: Involved in translation termination in response to the termination codons UAA, UAG and UGA. Stimulates the activity of ERF1. Involved in regulation of mammalian cell growth. Component of the transient SURF complex which recruits UPF1 to stalled ribosomes in the context of nonsense-mediated decay (NMD) of mRNAs containing premature stop codons. Belongs to the GTP-binding elongation factor family. ERF3 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell cycle regulation; Hydrolase; RNA-binding; Translation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p13.1

Cellular Component: intracellular

Molecular Function: GTPase activity; protein binding; GTP binding; translation release factor activity

Biological Process: protein amino acid methylation; mRNA catabolic process, nonsense-mediated decay; translational termination; G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle

Product Notes

The GSPT1 gspt1 (Catalog #AAA3241471) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GSPT1 Peptide - N-terminal region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GSPT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSPT1 gspt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: AGGRAAPVES SQEEQSLCEG SNSAVSMELS EPIENGETEM SPEESWEHKE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GSPT1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
