Target Description: This gene encodes a transcription factor containing an ETS DNA-binding domain. The gene can undergo a t(11;22)(q24;q12) translocation with the Ewing sarcoma gene on chromosome 22, which results in a fusion gene that is present in the majority of Ewing sarcoma cases. An acute lymphoblastic leukemia-associated t(4;11)(q21;q23) translocation involving this gene has also been identified. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Uniprot Description

FLI1: Sequence-specific transcriptional activator. Recognizes the DNA sequence 5'-C[CA]GGAAGT-3'. Defects in FLI1 are a cause of Ewing sarcoma (ES). A highly malignant, metastatic, primitive small round cell tumor of bone and soft tissue that affects children and adolescents. It belongs to the Ewing sarcoma family of tumors, a group of morphologically heterogeneous neoplasms that share the same cytogenetic features. They are considered neural tumors derived from cells of the neural crest. Ewing sarcoma represents the less differentiated form of the tumors. A chromosomal aberration involving FLI1 is found in patients with Erwing sarcoma. Translocation t(11;22)(q24;q12) with EWSR1. Belongs to the ETS family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Oncoprotein; Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q24.1-q24.3

Product Notes

The FLI1 fli1 (Catalog #AAA3244068) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FLI1 Peptide - N-terminal region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FLI1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FLI1 fli1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MEGGLAGERA RESPVDCSVS KCSKLVGGGE SNPMNYNSYM DEKNGPPPPN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FLI1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
