Intended Uses: For the quantitative detection of Rat 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A (HTR1A) concentration in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with an antibody specific for HTR1A and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated HTR1A. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled HTR1A and unlabeled HTR1A with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of HTR1A in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

regulates AMPA receptor channels in the prefrontal cortex; regulation is mediated via inhibition of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent kinase II [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

5-HT(1A): This is one of the several different receptors for 5- hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 5- hydroxytryptamine receptor subfamily. HTR1A sub-subfamily.

Product Notes

The Rat HTR1A htr1a (Catalog #AAA282368) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA282368 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat HTR1A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
