Related Product Information for HJURP recombinant protein
Centromeric protein that plays a central role in the incorporation and maintenance of histone H3-like variant CENPA at centromeres. Acts as a specific chaperone for CENPA and is required for the incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA molecules into nucleosomes at replicated centromeres. Prevents CENPA-H4 tetramerization and prevents prature DNA binding by the CENPA-H4 tetramer. Directly binds Holliday junctions.

Uniprot Description

HJURP: Centromeric protein that plays a central role in the incorporation and maintenance of histone H3-like variant CENPA at centromeres. Acts as a specific chaperone for CENPA and is required for the incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA molecules into nucleosomes at replicated centromeres. Prevents CENPA-H4 tetramerization and prevents premature DNA binding by the CENPA-H4 tetramer. Directly binds Holliday junctions. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Histone-binding; Nucleolus

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q37.1

Cellular Component: chromosome, pericentric region; cytosol; mitochondrion; nucleolus; nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: histone binding; identical protein binding; protein binding

Biological Process: chromosome segregation; DNA replication-independent nucleosome assembly at centromere; regulation of DNA binding; regulation of protein complex assembly

Product Notes

The HJURP hjurp (Catalog #AAA9420316) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Full Length, 1-748aa. The Recombinant Human Holliday junction recognition protein reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Holliday junction recognition, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
