SLC39A6/LIV-1 Lysate | SLC39A6 lysate

Cynomolgus SLC39A6/LIV-1 HEK293 Overexpression Lysate

Applications
Western Blot
Synonyms
SLC39A6/LIV-1; Cynomolgus SLC39A6/LIV-1 HEK293 Overexpression Lysate; Cynomolgus SLC39A6 HEK293 Cell Lysate (WB positive control); solute carrier family 39 member 6; SLC39A6 lysate

Host
HEK293 Cells
Form/Format
Modified RIPA Lysis Buffer: 50 mM Tris-HCl pH7.4, 150 mM NaCl, 1mM EDTA, 1% Triton X-100, 0.1% SDS, 1% Sodium deoxycholate, 1mM PMSF.
1 X Sample Buffer (1 X modified RIPA buffer+1 X SDS loading buffer).
Applicable Applications for SLC39A6 lysate
Western Blot (WB)
Species
Cynomolgus
Sequence Information
A DNA sequence encoding the cynomolgus SLC39A6 (A0A2K5WH46-1)(Met1-Gln308) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Preparation Method
Cell lysate was prepared by homogenization in ice-cold modified RIPA Lysis Buffer with cocktail of protease inhibitors (Sigma). Cell debris was removed by centrifugation. Protein concentration was determined by Bradford assay (protein assay, Microplate Standard assay). The cell lysate was boiled for 5 min in 1 x SDS loading buffer (50mM Tris-HCl pH6.8, 12.5% glycerol, 1% sodium dodecylsulfate, 0.01% bromophenol blue) containing 5% b-mercaptoethanol, and lyophilized.
Recommend Usage
1. Centrifuge the tube for a few seconds and ensure the pellet at the bottom of the tube.
2. Re-dissolve the pellet using 200uL pure water and boil for 2-5 min.
3. Store the lyophilized cell lysate at 4 degree C. After re-dissolution, recommend to aliquot it into smaller quantities and store at -80 degree C.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for up to twelve months from date of receipt. After re-dissolution, aliquot and store at -80 degree C for up to twelve months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for SLC39A6 lysate
Description: This Cynomolgus SLC39A6/LIV-1 overexpression lysate was created in HEK293 Cells and intented for use as a Western blot (WB) positive control. Purification of SLC39A6/LIV-1 protein from the overexpression lysate was verified.

Background: Along with the SLC30 family, SLC39 family members regulate zinc movement in cells. SLC39 metal ion transporters accumulate zinc into the cytosol. SLC39A6, also known as LIV-1, belongs to a new subfamily of Zrt, Irt-like protein zinc transporters (LZTs). It is involved in maintaining the intracellular homeostasis of zinc, an ion that is essential in the control of cellular growth and differentiation. SLC39A6 plays a critical role in maintaining zinc homeostasis, and was originally identified as an estrogen-induced gene in a breast cancer cell line. Generally, elevated SLC39A6 expression is reportedly related to cancer progression in other various types of cancer, including breast, prostate, pancreatic, cervical and liver cancers.

Product Notes

The SLC39A6 (Catalog #AAA8119928) is a Lysate produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's SLC39A6/LIV-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SLC39A6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SLC39A6/LIV-1, Lysate" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
