Recommend Usage
1. Centrifuge the tube for a few seconds and ensure the pellet at the bottom of the tube.2. Re-dissolve the pellet using 200uL pure water and boil for 2-5 min.
Sequence Construction
A DNA sequence encoding the human ASGR2 (P07307-1) (Gln80-Ala311) was expressed, with an N-terminal polyhistidine tag.
Preparation Method
Cell lysate was prepared by homogenization of the over-expressed cells in ice-cold modified RIPA Lysis Buffer with cocktail of protease inhibitors. Cell debris was removed by centrifugation. Protein concentration was determined by Bradford assay (protein assay, Microplate Standard assay). The cell lysate was boiled for 5 min in 1 x SDS loading buffer (50mM Tris-HCl pH 6.8, 12.5% glycerol, 1% sodium dodecylsulfate, 0.01% bromophenol blue) containing 5% b-mercaptoethanol, and lyophilized.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for up to twelve months from date of receipt. After re-dissolution, aliquot and store at -80 degree C for up to twelve months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt.
Related Product Information for ASGR2 cell lysate
ASGR2 is a subunit of the asialoglycoprotein receptor. Asialoglycoprotein receptor, also known as the Ashwell receptor, which is specific for desialylated (galactosyl-terminal) glycoproteins and is expressed exclusively in hepatic parenchymal cells. This receptor is a transmembrane protein that plays a critical role in serum glycoprotein homeostasis by mediating the endocytosis and lysosomal degradation of glycoproteins with exposed terminal galactose or N-acetylgalactosamine residues. ASGR2 is a glycoprotein. The asialoglycoprotein receptor may facilitate hepatic infection by multiple viruses including hepatitis B, and is also a target for liver-specific drug delivery. The asialoglycoprotein receptor is a hetero-oligomeric protein composed of major and minor subunits, which are encoded by different genes. ASGR2 is the less abundant minor subunit.

This Human ASGR2 overexpression lysate was created in HEK293 Cells and intented for use as a Western blot (WB) positive control. Purification of ASGR2 protein from the overexpression lysate was verified.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a subunit of the asialoglycoprotein receptor. This receptor is a transmembrane protein that plays a critical role in serum glycoprotein homeostasis by mediating the endocytosis and lysosomal degradation of glycoproteins with exposed terminal galactose or N-acetylgalactosamine residues. The protein encoded by this gene is the less abundant minor subunit. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. Uniprot Description

ASGP-R: cell surface receptor that mediates the endocytosis of plasma glycoproteins in which the terminal sialic acid residue on their complex carbohydrate moieties has been removed. It transports these glycoproteins via a series of membrane vesicles and tubules to an acidic-sorting organelle where the receptor and ligand dissociates. Then the receptor is recycled back to the cell surface. There are four alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene.

Protein type: Receptor, misc.; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; asialoglycoprotein receptor activity; carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; glycoprotein metabolic process; lipid homeostasis; regulation of protein stability; bone mineralization

Product Notes

The ASGR2 asgr2 (Catalog #AAA8115301) is a Cell Lysate produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 252aa. AAA Biotech's ASGR2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ASGR2 asgr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Gln80-Ala3 11. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ASGR2, Cell Lysate" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
