Related Product Information for HBG1 recombinant protein
The gamma globin genes (HBG1 and HBG2) are normally expressed in the fetal liver, spleen and bone marrow. Two gamma chains together with two alpha chains constitute fetal hemoglobin (HbF) which is normally replaced by adult hemoglobin (HbA) at birth. In some beta-thalassemias and related conditions, gamma chain production continues into adulthood. The two types of gamma chains differ at residue 136 where glycine is found in the G-gamma product (HBG2) and alanine is found in the A-gamma product (HBG1). The former is predominant at birth. The order of the genes in the beta-globin cluster is: 5' - epsilon - gamma-G - gamma-A - delta - beta - 3'. Recombinant human HBG1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Uniprot Description

Gamma chains make up the fetal hemoglobin F, in combination with alpha chains.

Product Notes

The HBG1 hbg1 (Catalog #AAA205365) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's HBG1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HBG1 hbg1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMGHFTEE DKATITSLWG KVNVEDAGGE TLGRLLVVYP WTQRFFDSFG NLSSASAIMG NPKVKAHGKK VLTSLGDATK HLDDLKGTFA QLSELHCDKL HVDPENFKLL GNVLVTVLAI HFGKEFTPEV QASWQKMVTA VASALSSRYH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HBG1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
