NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Catalyzes the third of the four reactions of the long-chain fatty acids elongation cycle. This endoplasmic reticulum-bound enzymatic process, allows the addition of two carbons to the chain of long- and very long-chain fatty acids/VLCFAs per cycle. This enzyme catalyzes the dehydration of the 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA intermediate into trans-2,3-enoyl-CoA, within each cycle of fatty acid elongation. Thereby, it participates in the production of VLCFAs of different chain lengths that are involved in multiple biological processes as precursors of membrane lipids and lipid mediators.

Product Notes
The PTPLA hacd1 (Catalog #AAA7028256) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Cell Free Expression and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-249aa; full length protein. This is a recombinant transmembrane protein expressed in a cell-free expression system. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PTPLA hacd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MASSEEDGTN GGASEAGEEK EAPGRRRRLG LLATVWLTFY NIAMTAGWLV LAIAMVRFYM EKGTHKGLYK SIQKTLKFFQ TFALLEIVHC LIGIVPTSVI VAGVQVSSRI FMVWLITHSI KPIQNEESVV LFLVAWTVTE ITRYSFYTFS LLDHLPYFIK WARYNFFIIL YPVGVVGELL TIYAALPYVK KTGMFSIRLP NKYNVSFDYY YFLLITMASY IPLFPQLYFH MLRQRRKVLH GEVIVEKDD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydratase 1 (PTPLA), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
