Guinea pig Alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2, 6-sialyltransferase 3 (ST6GALNAC3) ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
ST6GALNAC3 belongs to a family of sialyltransferases that transfer sialic acids from CMP-sialic acid to terminal positions of carbohydrate groups in glycoproteins and glycolipids (Lee et al., 1999 [PubMed 10207017]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Uniprot Description
ST6GALNAC3: Involved in the biosynthesis of ganglioside GD1A from GM1B. Transfers CMP-NeuAc with an alpha-2,6-linkage to GalNAc residue on NeuAc-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc of glycoproteins and glycolipids. ST6GalNAcIII prefers glycolipids to glycoproteins. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 29 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Glycan Metabolism - glycosphingolipid biosynthesis - ganglio series; Transferase; Membrane protein, integral; EC 2.4.99.-
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p31.1
Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; integral to membrane
Molecular Function: sialyltransferase activity
Biological Process: cellular protein metabolic process; glycoprotein metabolic process; dolichol-linked oligosaccharide biosynthetic process; protein amino acid N-linked glycosylation via asparagine; glycosphingolipid metabolic process; post-translational protein modification; glycosylceramide metabolic process

Product Notes
The Guinea Pig ST6GALNAC3 st6galnac3 (Catalog #AAA7229765) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7229765 ELISA Kit recognizes Guinea Pig ST6GALNAC3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2, 6-sialyltransferase 3 (ST6GALNAC3), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
