Background: GPIHBP1 (Glycosylphosphatidylinositol Anchored High-Density Lipoprotein Binding Protein 1) is a Protein Coding gene. The encoded protein is a member of the lymphocyte antigen 6 (Ly6) family. GPIHBP1 is an endothelial cell protein, which binds LPL in the subendothelial spaces and transports it to the capillary lumen.
