Lyophilized powder. Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 8.0, or 10 mM NH4HCO3 pH 8.0. When diluting to below 10 ug/mL, the diluted solution contain carrier protein (BSA or others) to avoid non-specific absorption of the hGH to plastic tubes.

Biological Significance
Human growth hormone (hGH, somatotropin), a protein hormone from the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, comprises a single polypeptide chain of 191 amino acid residues. The growth hormone amino acid sequence varies considerably between species, and non-primate growth hormones have little activity in man. Its main function is the stimulation of somatic and bone growth, as well as an increase in the size and mass of organs and tissues.
Preparation and Storage
Ships ambient or refrigerated. Upon receipt store at -20°C. After reconstitution store at 4°C for up to 1 week or with a carrier protein at -20°C to -70°C long term. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
