Preparation and Storage

Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-GALNT7 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-GALNT7 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the GALNT7 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of GALNT7 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla)-containing protein thought to be involved in the stimulation of cell proliferation. This gene is frequently overexpressed in many cancers and has been implicated as an adverse prognostic marker. Elevated protein levels are additionally associated with a variety of disease states, including venous thromboembolic disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, chronic renal failure, and preeclampsia. GAS6/AXL signaling plays a role in various processes such as endothelial cell survival during acidification by preventing apoptosis, optimal cytokine signaling during human natural killer cell development, hepatic regeneration, gonadotropin-releasing hormone neuron survival and migration, platelet activation, or regulation of thrombotic responses. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
