Uniprot Description

FOLH1: Has both folate hydrolase and N-acetylated-alpha-linked- acidic dipeptidase (NAALADase) activity. Has a preference for tri- alpha-glutamate peptides. In the intestine, required for the uptake of folate. In the brain, modulates excitatory neurotransmission through the hydrolysis of the neuropeptide, N- aceylaspartylglutamate (NAAG), thereby releasing glutamate. Isoform PSM-4 and isoform PSM-5 would appear to be physiologically irrelevant. Involved in prostate tumor progression. Belongs to the peptidase M28 family. M28B subfamily. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PSMA / FOLH1 folh1 (Catalog #AAA2547098) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant mouse FOLH1 consists of 725 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 81.8 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 100-110 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PSMA / FOLH1 folh1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PSMA / FOLH1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
