Rat Fibronectin ELISA Kit | FN1 elisa kit
Rat Fibronectin PicoKine ELISA Kit
Background: Fibronectin (FN) also known as LETS, is identified on the surfFN of fibroblasts by labeling with radioactive compounds or specific antibodies. Fibronectin is a 430,000-dalton dimeric glycoprotein that exists in 2 forms, termed cellular and plasma fibronectin. Cellular and plasma fibronectins are heterodimers consisting of similar but not identical polypeptides.1 These two forms of FN differ in biologic activity. Fibronectins bind cell surfFNs andvarious compounds including collagen, fibrin, heparin, DNA, and actin. Because fibronectin stimulates endocytosis in several systems and promotes the clearance of particulate material from the circulation, it could function in the clearance of C1q-coated material such as immune complexes or cellular debris.2 Fibronectins are involved in celladhesion, cell motility, opsonization, would healing, and maintenance of cell shape. LETS, encoded on chromosome 8, is responsible for the LETS protein expression in humans. Because LETS has been implicated in tumorigenicity and cellular transformation, it is of interest that rearrangement or modifications in the number of chromosome 8 have been associated with certain forms of cancer.3 The standard used in this kit is isolated fromrat plasma with the molecular mass of 200-250KDa.

Uniprot Description
FN1: Fibronectins bind cell surfaces and various compounds including collagen, fibrin, heparin, DNA, and actin. Fibronectins are involved in cell adhesion, cell motility, opsonization, wound healing, and maintenance of cell shape. Defects in FN1 are the cause of glomerulopathy with fibronectin deposits type 2 (GFND2); also known as familial glomerular nephritis with fibronectin deposits or fibronectin glomerulopathy. GFND is a genetically heterogeneous autosomal dominant disorder characterized clinically by proteinuria, microscopic hematuria, and hypertension that leads to end-stage renal failure in the second to fifth decade of life. 15 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Rat FN1 fn1 (Catalog #AAA175957) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA175957 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat FN1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibronectin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
