Related Product Information for PPIase / FKBP7 recombinant protein
Background: PPIase is a member of the immunophilin protein family. It also belongs to the cyclophilin-type PPIase family, PPIL3 subfamily. PPIase contains 1 PPIase cyclophilin-type domain. Members of the immunophilin protein family play a role in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides. It has a very high substrate specificity for the four-residue peptide Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe only when the proline peptide bond is in the trans state. It interacts with several intracellular signal transduction proteins including type I TGF-beta receptor. It also interacts with multiple intracellular calcium release channels, and coordinates multi-protein complex formation of the tetrameric skeletal muscle ryanodine receptor. In mouse, deletion of this homologous gene causes congenital heart disorder known as noncompaction of left ventricular myocardium.

Description: A DNA sequence encoding the human FKBP7 (Q9Y680-2) (Met1-Gln218) was expressed, fused with the Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the FKBP-type peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerase (PPIase) family. Members of this family exhibit PPIase activity and function as molecular chaperones. A similar protein in mouse is located in the endoplasmic reticulum and binds calcium. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

FKBP7: PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins during protein synthesis. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PPIase / FKBP7 fkbp7 (Catalog #AAA2545349) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant human FKBP7/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 436 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 49.4 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 55kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPIase / FKBP7 fkbp7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPIase / FKBP7, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
