Related Product Information for IL-10 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Fish Interleukin 10 (also known as IL-10) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, Ascites, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Fish IL-10 antibody. IL-10 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Fish IL-10 Antibody is added and binds to IL-10 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IL-10 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Fish IL-10. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine produced primarily by monocytes and to a lesser extent by lymphocytes. This cytokine has pleiotropic effects in immunoregulation and inflammation. It down-regulates the expression of Th1 cytokines, MHC class II Ags, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages. It also enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production. This cytokine can block NF-kappa B activity, and is involved in the regulation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Knockout studies in mice suggested the function of this cytokine as an essential immunoregulator in the intestinal tract. Mutations in this gene are associated with an increased susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

Inhibits the synthesis of a number of cytokines, including IFN-gamma, IL-2, IL-3, TNF and GM-CSF produced by activated macrophages and by helper T-cells.

Product Notes

The Fish IL-10 il10 (Catalog #AAA1601741) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1601741 ELISA Kit recognizes Fish IL-10. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 10 (IL-10), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
