INTENDED USE This FGF-10 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Bovine FGF-10. This ELISA kit for research use only!
PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY FGF-10 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-FGF-10 antibody and an FGF-10-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with FGF-10-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the FGF-10 concentration since FGF-10 from samples and FGF-10-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-FGF-10 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by FGF-10 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind FGF-10-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The FGF-10 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein exhibits mitogenic activity for keratinizing epidermal cells, but essentially no activity for fibroblasts, which is similar to the biological activity of FGF7. Studies of the mouse homolog of suggested that this gene is required for embryonic epidermal morphogenesis including brain development, lung morphogenesis, and initiation of lim bud formation. This gene is also implicated to be a primary factor in the process of wound healing. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes
The Bovine FGF-10 fgf10 (Catalog #AAA742003) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA742003 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine FGF-10. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibroblast growth factor-10, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
