Related Product Information for FDFT1 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: FDFT1 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-FDFT1 antibody and an FDFT1-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with FDFT1-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the FDFT1 concentration since FDFT1 from samples and FDFT1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-FDFT1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by FDFT1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind FDFT1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The FDFT1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a membrane-associated enzyme located at a branch point in the mevalonate pathway. The encoded protein is the first specific enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, catalyzing the dimerization of two molecules of farnesyl diphosphate in a two-step reaction to form squalene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Rabbit FDFT1 fdft1 (Catalog #AAA730133) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA730133 ELISA Kit recognizes Rabbit FDFT1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Farnesyl Diphosphate Farnesyltransferase 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
