INTENDED USE This FCAR ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Sheep FCAR. This ELISA kit for research use only!

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY FCAR ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-FCAR antibody and an FCAR-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with FCAR-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the FCAR concentration since FCAR from samples and FCAR-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-FCAR antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by FCAR from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind FCAR-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The FCAR concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily and encodes a receptor for the Fc region of IgA. The receptor is a transmembrane glycoprotein present on the surface of myeloid lineage cells such as neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and eosinophils, where it mediates immunologic responses to pathogens. It interacts with IgA-opsonized targets and triggers several immunologic defense processes, including phagocytosis, antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, and stimulation of the release of inflammatory mediators. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Sheep FCAR fcar (Catalog #AAA738325) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA738325 ELISA Kit recognizes Sheep FCAR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fc Fragment Of IgA Receptor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
