Related Product Information for FAPalpha elisa kit
Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-Human FAPalpha antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human FAPalpha antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human FAPalpha amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human FAPalpha can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a homodimeric integral membrane gelatinase belonging to the serine protease family. It is selectively expressed in reactive stromal fibroblasts of epithelial cancers, granulation tissue of healing wounds, and malignant cells of bone and soft tissue sarcomas. This protein is thought to be involved in the control of fibroblast growth or epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during development, tissue repair, and epithelial carcinogenesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]

Uniprot Description

FAP: In association with DPP4 is involved in the pericellular proteolysis of the extracellular matrix (ECM), the migration and invasion of endothelial cells into the ECM. May have a role in tissue remodeling during development and wound healing, and may contribute to invasiveness in malignant cancers. Belongs to the peptidase S9B family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Protease; EC 3.4.21.26; Membrane protein, integral; EC 3.4.14.5

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q23

Cellular Component: apical part of cell; cell surface; cytoplasm; extracellular space; focal adhesion; integral to membrane; lamellipodium; plasma membrane

Product Notes

The Human FAPalpha fap (Catalog #AAA766049) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA766049 ELISA Kit recognizes Human FAPalpha. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibroblast Activation Protein Alpha, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
