Related Product Information for ESRP1 recombinant protein
Background: Epithelial splicing regulatory protein 1 (ESRP1) is an epithelial cell-specific RNA binding protein that controls several key cellular processes, like alternative splicing and translation. Epithelial splicing regulatory protein 1 (ESRP1) has been characterized as an essential splicing factor required for the regulation of human pluripotency and differentiation. ESRP1 regulates CD44 alternative splicing during the EMT process which plays an important role in EOC carcinogenesis. In addition, ESRP1 is associated with disease prognosis in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Epithelial splicing regulatory protein 1 (ESRP1) and 2 (ESRP2), epithelial cell-specific regulators of alternative splicing, are downregulated during the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). There is a critical role of the AS regulator epithelial splicing regulator protein 1 (ESRP1) for intestinal homeostasis and pathogenesis.

NCBI Description

ESPR1 is an epithelial cell-type-specific splicing regulator (Warzecha et al., 2009 [PubMed 19285943]).[supplied by OMIM, Aug 2009]

Uniprot Description

RBM35A: mRNA splicing factor that regulates the formation of epithelial cell-specific isoforms. Specifically regulates the expression of FGFR2-IIIb, an epithelial cell-specific isoform of FGFR2. Also regulates the splicing of CD44, CTNND1, ENAH, 3 transcripts that undergo changes in splicing during the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Acts by directly binding specific sequences in mRNAs. Binds the GU-rich sequence motifs in the ISE/ISS-3, a cis-element regulatory region present in the mRNA of FGFR2. Belongs to the ESRP family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: RNA processing

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q22.1

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: mRNA binding; nucleotide binding

Product Notes

The ESRP1 esrp1 (Catalog #AAA8121512) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus-Insect Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Ile68 1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ESRP1/RBM35A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
