Related Product Information for IF4A2 recombinant protein
ATP-dependent RNA helicase which is a subunit of the eIF4F complex involved in cap recognition and is required for mRNA binding to ribosome. In the current model of translation initiation, eIF4A unwinds RNA secondary structures in the 5'-UTR of mRNAs which is necessary to allow efficient binding of the small ribosomal subunit, and subsequent scanning for the initiator codon.

Uniprot Description

EIF4A2: ATP-dependent RNA helicase which is a subunit of the eIF4F complex involved in cap recognition and is required for mRNA binding to ribosome. In the current model of translation initiation, eIF4A unwinds RNA secondary structures in the 5'-UTR of mRNAs which is necessary to allow efficient binding of the small ribosomal subunit, and subsequent scanning for the initiator codon. Belongs to the DEAD box helicase family. eIF4A subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The IF4A2 eif4a2 (Catalog #AAA9421522) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Full Length, 1-407aa. The Recombinant Human Eukaryotic initiation factor 4A-II protein reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Eukaryotic initiation factor 4A-II, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
