XEDAR / EDA2R recombinant protein
Recombinant Human XEDAR / EDA2R Protein (His tag)
Description: A DNA sequence encoding the human EDA2R (NP_068555.1) extracellular domain (Met 1-Thr 138) fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus and a signal peptide at the N-terminus.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a type III transmembrane protein of the TNFR (tumor necrosis factor receptor) superfamily, and contains cysteine-rich repeats and a single transmembrane domain. This protein binds to the EDA-A2 isoform of ectodysplasin, which plays an important role in maintenance of hair and teeth. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encodes distinct protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]
Uniprot Description
EDA2R: Receptor for EDA isoform A2, but not for EDA isoform A1. Mediates the activation of the NF-kappa-B and JNK pathways. Activation seems to be mediated by binding to TRAF3 and TRAF6. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq12
Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane
Molecular Function: protein binding; receptor activity
Biological Process: activation of NF-kappaB transcription factor; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; positive regulation of JNK cascade; tissue development; tumor necrosis factor-mediated signaling pathway

Product Notes
The XEDAR / EDA2R eda2r (Catalog #AAA2545649) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant human EDA2R consists of 149 amino acids and predictes a molecular mass of 16.7 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of rhEDA2R is approximately 33 kDa due to glycosylation. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the XEDAR / EDA2R eda2r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "XEDAR / EDA2R, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
