Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CXCL2 Viral in sterile 18M Omega -cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Biological Activity
Determined by the inhibitory effect on monocyte migration response to human MIP1A using a concentration range of 1 ug-10 ug/ml of viral MIP2 which will inhibit 25ng/ml of human MIP1A.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized MIP-2 Viral protein although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution CXCL2 should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for vMIP2 active protein
Description: MIP-2 Viral Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single,non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 70 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 7.9 kDa. The MIP-2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: Viral MIP-2 is closely related to MIP-1alpha, show amino acid sequence similarity of about 41%. At the amino acid sequence level, Viral MIP-1 and Viral MIP-2 share 48% similarity. Viral MIP-1 and Viral MIP-2 are more closely linked to one another phylogenetically than to other human chemokines, signifying that they have gene duplication within the virus rather than by two independent gene aquisitions. Viral MIP-2 binds to the CCR3 chemokine receptor through which eotaxin and other beta chemokines activate eosinophils. Viral MIP-2 activates and chemoattract human eosinphils.

Uniprot Description

Blocks infection by several different human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) strains. This occurs because vMIP-II binds to a wide range of chemokine receptors. May form part of the response to host defenses contributing to virus-induced neoplasia and may have relevance to KSHV and HIV-I interactions.

Product Notes

The vMIP2 orf k4 (Catalog #AAA144127) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: LGASWHRPDK CCLGYQKRPL PQVLLSSWYP TSQLCSKPGV IFLTKRGRQV CADKSKDWVK KLMQQLPVTA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Viral Macrophage inflammatory Protein-2, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
