Related Product Information for GCP-2 (CXCL6) active protein
GCP-2 is a connective tissue derived CXC chemokine that can signal through the CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors.  GCP-2 selectively attracts neutrophils and has also been shown to exert anti-angiogenic activity.  Human GCP-2 is cross-react on murine cells.  Recombinant human GCP-2 is a 7.9 kDa protein containing 72 amino acid residues.

Uniprot Description

Function: Vasoconstrictor activity. These toxins cause cardiac arrest probably as a result of coronary vasospasm. May act by displaying agonistic activities towards endothelin-1 and -2 receptors (EDNRA and EDNRB). Ref.1

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Tissue specificity: Expressed by the venom gland.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the endothelin/sarafotoxin family.

Product Notes

The GCP-2 (CXCL6) btx (Catalog #AAA691780) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Human GCP-2 (CXCL6) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: VLTELRCTCL RVTLRVNPKT IGKLQVFPAG PQCSKVEVVA SLKNGK QVCL DPEAPFLKKV IQKILDSGNK KN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GCP-2 (CXCL6), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
