Related Product Information for TGF-beta3 active protein
The three mammalian isoforms of TGF-beta, TGF-beta1, beta2, beta3, signal through the same receptor and elicit similar biological responses. They are multifunctional cytokines that regulate cell proliferation, growth, differentiation and motility as well as synthesis and deposition of the extracellular matrix. They are involved in various physiological processes including embryogenesis, tissue remodeling and wound healing. They are secreted predominantly as latent complexes which are stored at the cell surface and in the extracellular matrix. The release of biologically active TGF-beta isoform from a latent complex involves proteolytic processing of the complex and /or induction of conformational changes by proteins such as thrombospondin-1. The physiological role of TGF-beta3 is still unknown but its expression pattern suggests a role in the regulation of certain development processes. Recombinant human TGF-beta3 is a 25.0 kDa protein composed of two identical 112 amino acid polypeptide chains linked by a single disulfide bond.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the TGF-beta family of proteins. The encoded protein is secreted and is involved in embryogenesis and cell differentiation. Defects in this gene are a cause of familial arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia 1. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]

Product Notes

The TGF-beta3 tgfb3 (Catalog #AAA695776) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Human TGF-beta3 reacts with Species Reactivity: Human Cross Reactivity: Cow, Dog, Mouse, Pig, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: ALDTNYCFR NLEENCCVR PLYIDFRQD LGWKWVHEP KGYYANFCS GPCPYLRSA DTTHSTVLG LYNTLNPEA SASPCCVPQ DLEPLTILY YVGRTPKVE QLSNMVVKS CKCS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TGF-beta3, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
