Related Product Information for uGDH active protein
uGDH is a member of the uDP-glucose/GDP-mannose dehydrogenase family and is a ubiquitously expressed protein most abundant in the liver. This protein converts uDP-glucose to uDP-glucuronate and thereby participates in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronan, chondroitin sulfate, and heparan sulfate. These glycosylated compounds are common components of the extracellular matrix and likely play roles in signal transduction, cell migration, and cancer growth and metastasis. Recombinant human uGDH protein, fused to his-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene converts UDP-glucose to UDP-glucuronate and thereby participates in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronan, chondroitin sulfate, and heparan sulfate. These glycosylated compounds are common components of the extracellular matrix and likely play roles in signal transduction, cell migration, and cancer growth and metastasis. The expression of this gene is up-regulated by transforming growth factor beta and down-regulated by hypoxia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

Involved in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans; hyaluronan, chondroitin sulfate, and heparan sulfate.

Product Notes

The uGDH ugdh (Catalog #AAA203653) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's uGDH can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the uGDH ugdh for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MRGSHHHHHH GMASMTGGQQ MGRDLYDDDD KDRWGSELEM FEIKKICCIG AGYVGGPTCS VIAHMCPEIR VTVVDVNESR INAWNSPTLP IYEPGLKEVV ESCRGKNLFF STNIDDAIKE ADLVFISVNT PTKTYGMGKG RAADLKYIEA CARRIVQNSN GYKIVTEKST VPVRAAESIR RIFDANTKPN LNLQVLSNPE FLAEGTAIKD LKNPDRVLIG GDETPEGQRA VQALCAVYEH WVPREKILTT NTWSSELSKL AANAFLAQRI SSINSISALC EATGADVEEV ATAIGMDQRI GNKFLKASVG FGGSCFQKDV LNLVYLCEAL NLPEVARYWQ QVIDMNDYQR RRFASRIIDS LFNTVTDKKI AILGFAFKKD TGDTRESSSI YISKYLMDEG AHLHIYDPKV PREQIVVDLS HPGVSEDDQV SRLVTISKDP YEACDGAHAV VICTEWDMFK ELDYERIHKK MLKPAFIFDG RRVLDGLHNE LQTIGFQIET IGKKVSSKRI PYAPSGEIPK FSLQDPPNKK PKV. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "uGDH, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
