Related Product Information for Sulfotransferase 1E1 active protein
Cytosolic Sulfotransferases catalyze the sulfation of many hormones, neurotransmitters, drugs, and xenobiotic compounds. They are distinct from Golgi resident sulfotransferases by the absence of transmembrane domains and are located in the cytoplasm. SULT1E1 is widely known as an estrogen sulfotransferase and may control estrogen levels by converting free estradiol to its inactive sulfate conjugate (1). Known substrates of this enzyme also include dehydroepiandrosterone, pregnenolone, ethinyl estradiol , equalenin, diethylstilbesterol , 4nitrophenol, 1napthol and resveratrol (2,3). SULT1E1 activity is found in reproductive organs (4), intestine and liver (3,5).

Product Notes

The Sulfotransferase 1E1 (Catalog #AAA636493) is an Active Protein produced from E.coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Sulfotransferase 1E1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB) - Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Sulfotransferase 1E1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sulfotransferase 1E1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
