Form/Format
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 10mM sodium citrate pH 3.0. Reconstitute in sterile 100mM acetic acid, 0.1% BSA to a concentration 0.1mg/ml, which can then be diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Ser-Leu-Gly-Ser.
Biological Activity
The biological activity is determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of the proliferation of human umbelical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) using a concentration range of less than 1.6ng/ml.
Protein Content
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm using an extinction coefficient of 0.48 for a 0.1% solution
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of PDGF-BB as a reference standard

Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile 100mM acetic acid, 0.1% BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
