Related Product Information for IL-8 active protein
Human active form IL-8 (contains 72 amino acids) with N-terminal His-tag was expressed in E Coli cells and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. The protein accession number is NP_000575.1
IL-8 or interleukin 8 is a member of the CXC chemokine family that is one of the major mediators of the inflammatory response and several cell types secrete this chemokine. It functions as a chemoattractant, and is also a potent angiogenic factor. IL-8 plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of bronchiolitis, a common respiratory tract disease caused by viral infection (1). IL8 is produced and released from human adipose tissue and from isolated adipocytes in vitro, which may indicate that IL8 from adipose tissue could be involved in some obesity-related complications (2).

Product Notes

The IL-8 il8 (Catalog #AAA515797) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's IL-8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Cell Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL-8 il8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-8, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
