Biological Significance
BCA-1/BLC, a CXC chemokine, is expressed in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appendix and stomach. It exerts its activities through its only receptor CXCR5. BCA-1/BLC is a potent chemoattractant for B lymphocytes and induces weak chemotactic response in T cells and macrophages. It manifests no activity on neutrophils and monocytes.
Bioactivity
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human B cells using a concentration range of 1.0-10.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Levels
Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per ug (1 EU/ug).
Preparation and Storage
Upon receipt product is stable while lyophilized at room temperature for 1 month, 4°C for 6 months and -20°C for 2 years. Once reconstituted, can be stored at 4°C for 1 week. Stable for 3 months when futher diluted in a buffer with a carrier protein and stored in aliquots at -20°C.

NCBI Description

Encodes a putative beta-carbonic anhydrase betaCA1. Together with betaCA4 (At1g70410) regulates CO2-controlled stomatal movements in guard cells.

Uniprot Description

Reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Required for photosynthesis in cotyledons. Binds salicylic acid. Together with BCA4, involved in the CO2 signaling pathway which controls gas-exchange between plants and the atmosphere by modulating stomatal development and movements. Promotes water use efficiency.

Product Notes

The BCA1 bca1 (Catalog #AAA536552) is an Active Protein produced from E.coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's BCA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, User optimized. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BCA1 bca1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Region of BCA1 protein correspond ing to amino acids VLEVYYTSLR CRCVQESSVF IPRRFIDRIQ ILPRGNGCPR KEIIVWKKNK SIVCVDPQAE WIQRMMEVLR KRSSSTLPVP VFKRKIP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BCA1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
