Protein Content
Carried out by two independent methods: 1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm using the absorbency value of 2.08 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (Intelligenetics).

Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O, 0.1% BSA. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recombinant human Angiostatin is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 259 amino acids and having a molecular mass of ~30kD. rHuAng K1-3 is a proteolytic fragment of plasminogen containing the first three kringle structures. It is more active relative to kringles 1-4. rHuAng K1-3 is a specific inhibitor of endothelial cell growth and angiogenesis. It reduces endothelial cell proliferation and acts as a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis and tumor growth.
