Principle of the Assay||This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for DPT has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any DPT present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for DPT is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of DPT bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

Dermatopontin is an extracellular matrix protein with possible functions in cell-matrix interactions and matrix assembly. The protein is found in various tissues and many of its tyrosine residues are sulphated. Dermatopontin is postulated to modify the behavior of TGF-beta through interaction with decorin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Seems to mediate adhesion by cell surface integrin binding. May serve as a communication link between the dermal fibroblast cell surface and its extracellular matrix environment. Enhances TGFB1 activity. Inhibits cell proliferation. Accelerates collagen fibril formation, and stabilizes collagen fibrils against low-temperature dissociation

Product Notes

The Human DPT dpt (Catalog #AAA702307) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA702307 ELISA Kit recognizes Human DPT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "dermatopontin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
