Human DOT1-like, histone H3 methyltransferase (S. cerevisiae) ELISA Kit | DOT1L elisa kit
Human Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase, H3 lysine-79 specific, DOT1L ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a histone methyltransferase that methylates lysine-79 of histone H3. It is inactive against free core histones, but shows significant histone methyltransferase activity against nucleosomes. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Uniprot Description
DOT1L: a protein methyltransferase that catalyzes the mono-, di- and tri-methylation of H3K79. Methylated H3K79 is associated with active gene transcription. DOT1L activity drives proliferation of mixed lineage leukemia 1 protein (MLL)-rearranged leukemias, inducing the aberrant transcription of a number of leukemogenic genes including HOXA9 and MEIS1. Binds to DNA. Belongs to the class I-like SAM-binding methyltransferase superfamily. DOT1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: EC 2.1.1.43; Methyltransferase, protein lysine; Methyltransferase; Amino Acid Metabolism - lysine degradation
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3
Cellular Component: nucleus
Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding; histone lysine N-methyltransferase activity (H3-K79 specific); histone-lysine N-methyltransferase activity; transcription factor binding
Biological Process: regulation of JAK-STAT cascade; regulation of cell cycle; chromatin silencing

Product Notes
The Human DOT1L dot1l (Catalog #AAA9342121) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9342121 ELISA Kit recognizes Human DOT1L. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DOT1-like, histone H3 methyltransferase (S. cerevisiae), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
