NCBI Description

Dyneins are microtubule-associated motor protein complexes composed of several heavy, light, and intermediate chains. DNAH17 is a heavy chain associated with axonemal dynein (Milisav and Affara, 1998 [PubMed 9545504]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

DNAH17: Force generating protein of respiratory cilia. Produces force towards the minus ends of microtubules. Dynein has ATPase activity; the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP. Involved in sperm motility; implicated in sperm flagellar assembly. Belongs to the dynein heavy chain family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Microtubule-binding; Motor; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q25.3

Cellular Component: axonemal dynein complex; microtubule

Molecular Function: ATP binding; ATPase activity; microtubule motor activity

Biological Process: ciliary or flagellar motility; metabolic process; microtubule-based movement

Product Notes

The Human DNAH17 dnah17 (Catalog #AAA2885302) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2885302 ELISA Kit recognizes Human DNAH17. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dynein heavy chain 17, axonemal, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
