Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CTNND2 in Mouse serum, plasma. An antibody specific for CTNND2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CTNND2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CTNND2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CTNND2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is the tropomyosin-binding subunit of the troponin complex, which is located on the thin filament of striated muscles and regulates muscle contraction in response to alterations in intracellular calcium ion concentration. Mutations in this gene have been associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy as well as with dilated cardiomyopathy. Transcripts for this gene undergo alternative splicing that results in many tissue-specific isoforms, however, the full-length nature of some of these variants has not yet been determined. Uniprot Description

TNNT2: Troponin T is the tropomyosin-binding subunit of troponin, the thin filament regulatory complex which confers calcium-sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity. Heart. The fetal heart shows a greater expression in the atrium than in the ventricle, while the adult heart shows a greater expression in the ventricle than in the atrium. Isoform 6 predominates in normal adult heart. Isoforms 1, 7 and 8 are expressed in fetal heart. Isoform 7 is also expressed in failing adult heart. Belongs to the troponin T family. 11 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Rat cTn-T tnnt2 (Catalog #AAA281062) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA281062 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat cTn-T. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cardiac Troponin T, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
