NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
mitochondrial chaperonin HSP. assist in rapid assembly of the oligomeric protein structures in the mitochondria.
Uniprot Description
Function: Implicated in mitochondrial protein import and macromolecular assembly. May facilitate the correct folding of imported proteins. May also prevent misfolding and promote the refolding and proper assembly of unfolded polypeptides generated under stress conditions in the mitochondrial matrix.
Subcellular location: Mitochondrion.
Induction: By heat shock.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the chaperonin (HSP60) family.

Product Notes
The HSP60 cpn60 (Catalog #AAA636857) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Heat Shock Protein 60 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot analysis. We recommend that the material be diluted in SDS containing sample buffer (e.g. Laemmli, U.K., (1970) Nature 277: 680-685) and heated at 100 degree C for 5 minutes prior to use. On a 15-well minigel system, 50ng of protein per lane should be sufficient when used in a colorimetric Western Blot. This protein does not contain GroEL as determined by Western Blot analysis. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HSP60 cpn60 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Heat Shock Protein 60, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
