SMC5 blocking peptide
SMC5 Immunizing Peptide
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
SMC5: Core component of the SMC5-SMC6 complex, a complex involved in repair of DNA double-strand breaks by homologous recombination. The complex may promote sister chromatid homologous recombination by recruiting the SMC1-SMC3 cohesin complex to double-strand breaks. The complex is required for telomere maintenance via recombination in ALT (alternative lengthening of telomeres) cell lines and mediates sumoylation of shelterin complex (telosome) components which is proposed to lead to shelterin complex disassembly in ALT-associated PML bodies (APBs). Required for recruitment of telomeres to PML nuclear bodies. Required for sister chromatid cohesion during prometaphase and mitotic progression; the function seems to be independent of SMC6. Belongs to the SMC family. SMC5 subfamily.

Product Notes
The SMC5 smc5 (Catalog #AAA426011) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SMC5 Immunizing Peptide reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Cow, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: C-TSKHLEHK DNELRQ. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SMC5, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
