Function: May act as a negative regulator of cell number. Ref.1
Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass membrane protein
Potential.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in leaves, stalks and tassel spikelets. Detected in roots, apical meristems and immature ears, but not in pollen. In leaves, not detected in the cell division zone, expressed at low levels in the cell expansion and transition zones and at high levels in the mature or fully grown tissue. Ref.1
Developmental stage: Highly expressed in ovules before fertilization, but turned off upon fertilization and not expressed in developing embryos or endosperm. Expression climbs again as the embryos mature.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the cornifelin family.
