Aliquot and store at -80°C for 12 months.

Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37oC for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, and also play critical roles in maintaining cell polarity and signal transductions. The protein encoded by this gene is a low-affinity receptor for clostridium perfringens enterotoxin (CPE) produced by the bacterium Clostridium perfringens, and the interaction with CPE results in increased membrane permeability by forming small pores in plasma membrane. This protein is highly overexpressed in uterine carcinosarcoma. This protein is also predominantly present in brain endothelial cells, where it plays a specific role in the establishment and maintenance of blood brain barrier tight junction morphology. Uniprot Description

Claudin-3: Plays a major role in tight junction-specific obliteration of the intercellular space, through calcium- independent cell-adhesion activity. CLDN3 is located in the Williams-Beuren syndrome (WBS) critical region. WBS results from a hemizygous deletion of several genes on chromosome 7q11.23, thought to arise as a consequence of unequal crossing over between highly homologous low-copy repeat sequences flanking the deleted region. Belongs to the claudin family.

Cellular Component: tight junction; membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; cell junction; lateral plasma membrane

Product Notes

The CLDN3 cldn3 (Catalog #AAA2011943) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E. coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Arg30~Met159. AAA Biotech's Claudin 3 (CLDN3) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE (SDS); Western Blot (WB). May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CLDN3 cldn3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: R VSAFIGSSII TAQITWEGLW MNCVVQSTGQ MQCKMYDSLL ALPQDLQAAR ALIVVSILLA AFGLLVALVG AQCTNCVQDE TAKAKITIVA GVLFLLAALL TLVPVSWSAN TIIRDFYNPL VPEAQKREM. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Claudin 3 (CLDN3), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
