NCBI Description

subunit of nicotinic acetylcholline receptor; may mediate nicotine induced increase in tyrosine hydroxylase expression; may play a role in neuroprotection [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

nAChRA7: After binding acetylcholine, the AChR responds by an extensive change in conformation that affects all subunits and leads to opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane. The channel is blocked by alpha-bungarotoxin. Belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.9) family. Acetylcholine receptor (TC 1.A.9.1) subfamily. Alpha- 7/CHRNA7 sub-subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Rat CHRNA7 chrna7 (Catalog #AAA9340394) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9340394 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CHRNA7. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "cholinergic receptor, nicotinic, alpha 7, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
