Related Product Information for MAN1A1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Chicken MAN1A1 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to MAN1A1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for MAN1A1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain MAN1A1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of MAN1A1. You can calculate the concentration of MAN1A1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a class I mammalian Golgi 1,2-mannosidase which is a type II transmembrane protein. This protein catalyzes the hydrolysis of three terminal mannose residues from peptide-bound Man(9)-GlcNAc(2) oligosaccharides and belongs to family 47 of glycosyl hydrolases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

MAN1A1: Involved in the maturation of Asn-linked oligosaccharides. Progressively trim alpha-1,2-linked mannose residues from Man(9)GlcNAc(2) to produce Man(5)GlcNAc(2). Belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 47 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Glycan Metabolism - N-glycan biosynthesis; Calcium-binding; EC 3.2.1.113; Hydrolase; Endoplasmic reticulum

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q22

Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; Golgi apparatus; membrane; endoplasmic reticulum; cytoplasm; integral to membrane; ER-Golgi intermediate compartment

Molecular Function: mannosyl-oligosaccharide 1,2-alpha-mannosidase activity; calcium ion binding; mannosidase activity

Product Notes

The Chicken MAN1A1 man1a1 (Catalog #AAA2501472) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2501472 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken MAN1A1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAN1A1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
