Related Product Information for aFABP elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is Chicken aFABP monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

NCBI Description

intracellular lipid-binding protein; mediates fatty acid trafficking during lipolysis [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

FABP4: a lipid transport protein that is the predominant fatty acid binding protein found in adipocytes. Also expressed in macrophages. Binds both long chain fatty acids and retinoic acid. Delivers long-chain fatty acids and retinoic acid to their cognate receptors in the nucleus. Homodimer. Forms a beta-barrel structure that accommodates hydrophobic ligands in its interior. Interacts with PPARG. Monomer. FABP4 knockout mice fed a high-fat and high-calorie diet become obese but develop neither insulin resistance nor diabetes, suggesting that this protein might be a link between obesity and insulin resistance and diabetes. Mice deficient in both FABP4 and ApoE show protection against atherosclerosis when compared with mice deficient only in ApoE. Mice carrying a FABP4 genetic variant exhibit both reduced FABP4 expression and a reduced potential for developing type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease. A related study in humans indicated a similar pattern, suggesting that FABP4 may be a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of these disorders. Belongs to the calycin superfamily,fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.

Product Notes

The Chicken aFABP fabp4 (Catalog #AAA262923) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA262923 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken aFABP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Adipocyte fatty-acid binding protein (aFABP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
