Background/Introduction: The acetolactate synthase (EC 2.2.1.6), also known as acetohydroxy acid synthase, or AHAS, is a protein found in plants and micro-organisms. ALS catalyzes the first step in the synthesis of the branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, and isoleucine). Acetolactate Synthase Microplate Assay Kit is a sensitive assay for determining acetolactate synthase activity in various samples. Acetolactate synthase activity is determined by the product of acetoin. The increase in absorbance at 525 nm is directly proportional to the enzyme activity.

Uniprot Description

CNR1: Involved in cannabinoid-induced CNS effects. Acts by inhibiting adenylate cyclase. Could be a receptor for anandamide. Inhibits L-type Ca(2+) channel current. Isoform 2 and isoform 3 have altered ligand binding. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CB1 cnr1 (Catalog #AAA433637) is an Assay System and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. cAMP dependent human CB1 cell-based assay; cell-based high-throughput screening of human CB1 inhibitors. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CB1 cnr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cannabinoid Receptor 1, Assay System" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
