Related Product Information for CD157 recombinant protein
CD157, a member of the CD38 gene family, is an NAD- metabolizing ectoenzyme and a signaling molecule whose role in polarization, migration, and diapedesis of human granulocytes has been documented. Ectoenzymes include a heterogeneous group of surface molecules with multiple functions. In addition to interacting with specific substrates, many of them participate in leukocyte activation and migration. In some cases, ectoenzymes exert enzymatic control of leukocyte trafficking. Along with CD38, human CD157 constitutes the NAD glycohydrolase/ADP-ribosyl cyclase gene family. These two molecules share 36% of their protein sequence, including 10 cysteine residues forming intrachain disulfide bonds. However, they differ in structure, with CD157 being a glycosylphosphatidylinositol

NCBI Description

Bone marrow stromal cell antigen-1 is a stromal cell line-derived glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored molecule that facilitates pre-B-cell growth. The deduced amino acid sequence exhibits 33% similarity with CD38. BST1 expression is enhanced in bone marrow stromal cell lines derived from patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The polyclonal B-cell abnormalities in rheumatoid arthritis may be, at least in part, attributed to BST1 overexpression in the stromal cell population. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

BST1: Synthesizes cyclic ADP-ribose, a second messenger that elicits calcium release from intracellular stores. May be involved in pre-B-cell growth. Belongs to the ADP-ribosyl cyclase family.

Product Notes

The CD157 bst1 (Catalog #AAA553159) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEk293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD157 (BST1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
